About Me
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. During graduate school, I completed a hands-on clinical internship working with teens, adults, couples, and families. I am currently undergoing supervision with David Murphree, MA, LPC-S, while also pursuing my doctorate in traumatology to continue expanding the care I provide.
My experience includes working with clients facing depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, premarital and marriage issues, infidelity and betrayal, sexual abuse, trauma, postnatal bereavement, and many other complex life challenges. I have also spent several years working on the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Children’s of Alabama, supporting adolescents experiencing self-harm and suicidal ideation. These experiences have helped shape the clinical toolbelt I bring into each session.
My approach is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reshape unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build emotional regulation and coping skills, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to create practical change, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to foster self-understanding and healing.
While these approaches provide valuable tools, I lean heavily into the client-therapist relationship. Research consistently shows that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful counseling outcomes. I value building genuine rapport and creating a space where you can be truly seen, accepted with unconditional positive regard, and supported every step of the way as we work toward whatever your goals may be.
